Field Work Field Guide

2018
Designer, editor, project manager
The “Field Work Field Guide” was created as part of a project to bring science and poetry together in Salt Lake City. Field Work was a national initiative of Poets House, funded by The Institute for Museum and Library Services, and locally executed by the Salt Lake City Public Library and Natural History Museum of Utah. For this Field Guide, we shared some common forms of poetry and paired them with information about natural areas in Salt Lake City and commissioned painted from artist Claire Taylor.

“In 2018, I worked with Andrew while he was in his position at the Salt Lake City Public Library. He commissioned me to create illustrations for "Field Work Field Guide," which was a collaboration between the City Library and the Natural History Museum of Utah. Andrew designed the guide, which included my illustrations and poetry prompts by former Utah Poet Laureate, Katherine Coles. Once again, Andrew was such a pleasure to work with, to such a degree that I still count this as my favorite illustration commission to date.” — Claire Taylor, artist
