Andrew Rease Shaw is a multi-disciplinary artist working in graphic design, publications, photography, collage, music, sound, and experimental mediums. Regardless of the medium, Shaw creates work that engages his curiosity and desire for exploration, fosters community, and honors a sense of place, often involving collaboration with other designers, artists, writers, or people who don’t consider themselves artists. His work regularly incorporates the use of modern technologies or examines technology through a distrustful lens or from a slant perspective. Shaw’s work often reflects a disillusionment with the status quo and a desire to create new connections in pursuit of a better future.

Through his Torpor House imprint, Shaw designs and distributes art zines, indie publications, and other printed ephemera. He has provided the musical score for several feature films, including The Strongest Man (Sundance, 2015), My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To (Tribeca, 2020), and Mouse (2025). He serves on the board of The Davey Foundation, a non-profit supporting emerging filmmakers, and works at the Salt Lake City Arts Council.
